Why Cornerstone?

The most valuable tax advice doesn't happen when a return is filed. It happens before a decision is made.

That's the belief Cornerstone Private Advisory was built upon.

Why Cornerstone?

The name Cornerstone was chosen intentionally.

A cornerstone is the foundation upon which everything else is built. I believe tax planning should serve that same purpose.

Rather than treating advisory work as an occasional add-on, I believe thoughtful planning should come first. Understanding your goals, evaluating opportunities, and building a long-term strategy should guide every decision we make together.

Tax compliance remains important, but it should be the result of good planning—not the starting point.

Where it started.

I've spent more than 15 years helping successful individuals, families, business owners, trusts, and estates navigate complex tax decisions.

During that time, I worked with many wonderful clients and talented professionals. But one comment kept surfacing in conversations with prospective clients:

"My CPA is great during tax season, but I rarely hear from them the rest of the year. They just don't seem to have time for me or bring me proactive tax strategies."

The more I heard it, the more I realized there was an opportunity to create a different kind of client experience.

How I got here.

Over time, I became increasingly convinced that the most valuable tax advice doesn't happen when a return is prepared.

It happens before the decision is made.

Tax consequences begin long before forms are filed. They begin when a business is sold, a real estate investment is purchased, wealth is transferred to the next generation, or a trust strategy is implemented. These moments require thoughtful planning, timely conversations, and an advisor who is involved before decisions become permanent.

As I worked with more individuals and families, I became passionate about creating a different client experience—one centered on proactive guidance, ongoing communication, and long-term strategic planning rather than reactive compliance alone.

That vision ultimately became Cornerstone Private Advisory.

A Different Vision.

Whether it's selling a business, purchasing real estate, creating a trust, making a significant investment, or transferring wealth to the next generation, these moments often create the greatest planning opportunities.

I wanted to build a firm where those conversations weren't occasional—they become the foundation of the relationship.
